How to Make The Solar System Walk
Scale
The scale I used was that one astronomical unit (AU) was equivalent to .01 miles or 52.81' so each planet was the following distance from the start/sun:
-
Mercury (.4 AU) = .004 miles or 21.12'
-
Venus (.718 AU) = .00718 miles or 37.91'
-
Earth (1 AU) = .01 miles or 52.81'
-
Mars (1.524 AU) = .01524 miles or 80.4672'
-
Asteroid Belt (2.2 to 3.2 AU) = .022 to .032 miles or 116.16' to 168.96'
-
Jupiter (5.2 AU) = .052 miles or 274.56'
-
Saturn (9.5 AU) = .095 miles or 501.6'
-
Uranus (19.8 AU) = .198 miles or 1045.44'
-
Neptune (30 AU) = .30 miles or 1548'
-
Pluto (39.5 AU) = .395 miles or 2085.6'
